LINCLON STREET EXIT- DRIVE IT
HERE'S ANOTHER 1968 ORIGINAL WHITE LABEL PROMO COPY! THE COVER IS EX WITH RADIO STATION LETTERS WRITTEN ON THE BACK COVER. THE DISC IS A NICE VG+ TO EX AND PLAYS GREAT! Radio station letters are written on both labels. A very strong/solid effort that ranges from the psych-heavy blues ridden "Dirty Mother Blues" to the flowing grooves of "Soulful Drifter." "Time Has Come Gonna Die" reflects the times & the Vietnam era vibe hanging over the U.S. - Kinda creepy, kinda doomy.... Elsewhere the EXIT deal with sexual urgency, as in "Straight Shootin' Man", "Got You Babe" and the ripping "Phantom Child" ...Guitarists Mike Martin & R.C. Gariss are in the forefront and are backed up by the rhythm section of Mac Suazo (bass) & Lee Herres (drums). This band opened for many a headliner coming through the Southwest, and provided great performances throughout. Outstanding! throughout both sides... "Drive It" has the hardrock garage feel complete with wah-wah guitars and angry young man attitude.
